About Us

Welcome to D4 Driver Medicals

About Your HGV / PCV Medical

Your HGV or LGV journey starts with a medical.
We make that step quick, easy and stress-free.

Our doctors have been doing driver medicals for years — so we know exactly what the DVLA needs and how to help you pass without any fuss. Most examinations are completed less than 15 minutes.

Once your medical is complete, you’ll be able to apply for your provisional Category C licence and get moving towards your new job or next chapter.

When You’ll Need a Medical

  • First time: Before applying for your HGV or PCV licence.

  • Renewals: At 45, then every 5 years until 65.

  • After 65: Every year.

  • Motorhome drivers: If you passed before 1997, your C1 licence runs to age 70 and then needs renewing every 3 years.

  • Student paramedics: You’ll need a D4 medical for your C1 provisional, often done in your final year.

You’ll normally get a DVLA reminder with a D4 form a few weeks before your renewal.
If you haven’t, don’t worry — we can still help.
